And we're back..
Not that anyone looks at this thing anymore but for my own amusement, I'm going to continue to post pictures from our trip.
In Nasca, Peru, our guide took us to check out some uncovered burial grounds that were discovered by grave robbers.
Afterwards, once again, thanks to brett's parents we were able to see the Nasca Lines. We hopped on a Cessna to check out several of these huge drawings in the earth that cannot be fully explained as to how they got there but we do know that they've been there for 100s of years.
Hummingbird
And my personal favorite, the monkey
The next day, we hopped into a dune buggy and went sandboarding.
First the guy had us go down on our stomachs
The hotel we were staying in was situated in a little oasis.
We said bye bye to Brett's parents and hello to Bogotá, Colombia.
Botero's Mona Lisa
One last bus ride to go...9 hours to Medellín. This was where we stopped for lunch. Check out the girl on the left giving Brett the stinker.
Medellín
Sandwich shops didn't exist in Medellín so we had to do as the locals do and have the set Menus...they ran about $2 and some change.
Terribly boring museum that we had to jazz up
This was Botero's hometown so there was a park full of his sculptures
We went to the worst botanical garden that happened to be under some serious contstruction...a friendly worker suggested we come back next year...yeah, good one.
Largest brick church in South America using 1.2 million bricks...excitins stuff. This is what we were up against in the lovely city...in addition to the prostitutes and horribly predatory guys.
Finally left Medellín for our last destination: Cartagena. Brett said it had a very Caribbean island. I wouldn't know. Very different from any other city we had been to.
The hotel we were in was pretty sketchy so brett decided to bring along our cash and passports.
Back to Bogotá for one more night before coming back home.
The End
